We've got something rather big to celebrate...
Easter of this year marked one year since we launched our Milk in Glass and that year has been HUGE! Thanks to all of YOU, we have had such success with our glass bottle initiative.
- In one year we've saved 7,600 kilos of plastic
- Each bottle was refilled 7 times (on average)
- We had a bottle return rate of 95%
We wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has passionately bought our milk in glass and returned their bottles! It's YOU that has allowed us to have had such impressive success in our first year. Let's keep these amazing stats continuing throughout this next year.
We also wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who supported our Pozible crowdfunding campaign in 2018. Because of you, we were able to begin this journey of sustainability and less environmental impact.

When we kicked off this initiative, our main goal was to put a dent in the amount of plastic packaging we use. And after tallying up the numbers at the end of our first year of Milk in Glass, we've saved a whopping 7,600 kgs of plastic!
To put this is perspective, we're told that this equates to the weight of about 8 Volkswagon Beetles...that's a LOT of plastic bottles!
Seriously though, this wouldn't have been possible without the help of our Pozible supporters and the waste warriors that have embraced this product over the past year - thank you!
We've been blown away by the dedication of our customers in returning our custom made milk bottles. The bottles do look lovely and we wondered if it would be a little tempting to keep them at home but we've found just the opposite.
On average, every bottle that has left the dairy full of beautiful, fresh, full-cream milk has been returned, refilled and sent out again 7 times. This number is much higher than what we thought it would be, and we couldn't be more proud - plus, as time goes on, the glass bottles number of reuses only continues to grow past 7 times which is fantastic!
This INCREDIBLE return rate of 95% within our first year is all thanks to you - those who buy our milk in glass from us at farmers markets, or from your local greengrocer or organics store.
Getting these empty bottles back to us means that we can get more filled with our delicious organic milk back out into the community. And, now that we’ve updated our process to bottles being returned naked, we’re managing to quicken the washing, cleaning and sterilising of the bottles, meaning we can get milk back out into the community even quicker, including stocking new retailers and more stock in some current retailers.
